The Reytons are set to release their latest EP ’May Seriously Harm You and Others Around You’, a six-track record that comes with the focus single ’Broke Boys Cartel’ complete with a high-octane video featuring Steve Huison (Full Monty, Coronation Street).
Born through the band’s own experiences growing up in their home-town of Rotherham, the record seeks to defy the preset narrative of marginalised pockets of society, by delivering a message of belief through their hard-hitting and observational brand of songwriting.
Singer Jonny Yerrell says of the EP: “May Seriously Harm You And Others Around You comes from multiple angles of current situations from lockdown frustration to the struggles of trying to make ends meet. For us, the writing process for this EP has been completely different and new territory due to writing from home studios and sending each other demos through WhatsApp and emails”.
Despite these challenges caused by the pandemic, the band announced a 7200+ capacity Autumn headline tour, with their 2,100 cap Academy 1 show in Sheffield selling out in only 6 days.
The focus track ‘Broke Boys Cartel’ concludes what has been an enthralling EP jam-packed with a range of quirky lyricism, diverse narratives and driving guitar melodies, all of which help define The Reytons as one of the most exciting acts in the UK. The EP is out in its entirety today.
