Bowling For Soup Unveil New Single “Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody’s Doing It)!”
Getting older is a part of life that no-one can escape, as much as we might want to sometimes. A sentiment that is expressed perfectly in Bowling For Soup’s brand new single Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody’s Doing It). 2021 is the year where pop punk has burst back into the mainstream consciousness in a big way; Getting Old Sucks shows exactly why Bowling For Soup are still at the top of their game two decades after they first hit the big time.
The video for Getting Old Sucks sees Jaret, Gary, Chris and Rob adjust to the challenges of getting older – in a manner of speaking – while still rocking out in time honoured, tongue-in-cheek Bowling For Soup style.
Bowling For Soup frontman Jaret Reddick explains how the song came into being and some more about the video:
“I’ve had the tag line / title of this song for a really long time. I just couldn’t quite get the right vibe or mindset to write it. Oddly enough, it took Rob, the young guy in the band, sending me some music that needed lyrics and a little massaging…and here we are!
I also need to note that the puppets in the video were made by a teenage girl and her family made the video for us! It’s so perfect!”
Getting Old Sucks is the first new single from Bowling For Soup since their early 2020 worldwide smash hit, Alexa Bliss.
Bowling For Soup eagerly await their return to the UK in the Spring of 2022 on the rescheduled “Surf The UK” tour, taking in seaside towns around the country. Support on the tour comes from Lit and The Dollyrots.
