Maxïmo Park announce new live EP

Maxïmo Park have released a new EP, Live From The Coast, featuring songs from their new album Nature Always Wins, which hit #2 on the Official UK Albums Chart in March. Each of the singles released ahead of the album are included here – the psychedelic “Child Of The Flatlands”, “Baby, Sleep”’s playful indie-pop, the jerky and animated “I Don’t Know What I’m Doing”, the widescreen rumination of “All Of Me”, along with the album’s political focal point “Why Must A Building Burn?” – all recorded live on the cliffs above Tynemouth Bay.

Singer Paul Smiths comments: “We launched the single Baby, Sleep with a filmed live-stream, on a cliff overlooking Tynemouth Bay, but we thought we’d record a few more songs to mark the occasion. This was the first time we’d recorded them as a band because the actual album was recorded separately, with each member in isolation.

The EP is available to stream/purchase here, and live performances of each song will be available to watch on the band’s YouTube channel here.

Maxïmo Park have always thrived in a live setting, and Live From The Coast follows 2019’s As Long As We Keep Moving live DVD release. After a year without shows, delays and rescheduling, its release comes as excitement among fans to see the new songs performed live reaches its peak. The band’s upcoming headline UK tour is now all sold out.
