Sertraline Present “2205” – Manchester Arena Bombing Memorial Single

One year on from their hugely successful EP Clouded Minds & Silver Lines, Manchester / Yorkshire progressive tech metallers Sertraline are celebrating the EP anniversary with the release of a very special single.

2205 was written by Sertraline in memory of the events of the Manchester Arena Bombing, the fifth anniversary of which is taking place later this week (22nd of May – which explains the name “2205”). Frontwoman Lizzy Parry was present at the Ariana Grande show at the Manchester Arena when the bombing took place. 2205 was her way of processing what she saw, along with providing a message of hope.

Here’s more directly from the band about 2205:
“In May 2017, Lizzie attended the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena and witnessed the horrific events that unfolded. There had been some lyric ideas floating around for a while, but it took a couple of years for the right music to match. It would be easy to focus on the negatives of the experience; but 2205 aims to be empowering, motivating and about finding your inner strength.”

The lyrics for 2205 were something Lizzie also discussed in a behind the scenes video the band put out, which can be found below:

2205 is the third single to be taken from the Clouded Minds & Silver Lines EP, following the success of the first two singles, Inside Out and Isolation.

Clouded Minds & Silver Lines can now be streamed in full on Spotify. It is also available from iTunes / Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and Google Play. CD copies of the EP are also available from the Sertraline official online store, along with other band merchandise for those who would like to support the band directly.

Sertraline hope to return to playing live shows at the 2021 Radar Festival, with more shows in the pipeline. For full details of live shows (of course subject to ongoing COVID restrictions), please visit the bands’ social media.
