WEATHERSTATE release bleak new single ‘Never Getting Better’

Weymouth punks Weatherstate are back with a new single ‘Never Getting Better’. This new track really taps into the depths of despair. Says vocalist and guitarist Harry Hoskins: “‘Never Getting Better’ is about the feeling of complete apathy towards everyone and everything. Reaching the point of acceptance that there’s nothing you can do but sit back and watch how everything has gone to complete sh*t. This song was written in the summer of 2020 when it felt like there was no end in sight. We were supposed to fly out to the States for the first time and our plans we had dreamed of for years were ripped up in front of our faces. So I locked myself in my room in a sulk and wrote the hook to this song.”

The gloomy but relatable new single follows on from Weatherstate’s recently released banger ‘Current Dose’, the release of which preceded the band’s storming sets at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival. At the Leeds version of the  event, the band found themselves performing directly before special surprise guests McFly! There will be further opportunity to see the band play their new material live in the coming months including at Teddy Rocks Festival on 30 April, for which they’ve just been announced.

‘Hangar’ was the first stratospheric track to be revealed from Weatherstate’s remote sessions collaborating with Four Year Strong’s Alan Day and Neil Kennedy at The Ranch earlier this year and ‘Current Dose’ continues to kick that driven pop punk attitude up a notch. “All I can say is that you can work miracles over Zoom these days,” mused guitarist Callan Milward.
