Cardiff-London based alt-emo trio Sleep Outside have just self-released their debut EP ‘This Won’t Ever Last’. The carefully crafted collection of tracks features new single ‘Coffee & Tears’.
“This was one of the first songs written for the band, before we had a finalised lineup and had decided on the direction we wanted to head in,” comments vocalist and guitarist Adam Holborn of the track. “It’s about the end of a relationship that felt bulletproof until it fell apart and how easy it is to blame yourself when this happens.”
For fans of earlier wave emo bands such as Mineral, Braid, The Get Up Kids, and Jimmy Eat World, Sleep Outside bring a fresh attitude and some sparkling production values to their debut collection of tracks. ‘This Won’t Ever Last’ is a reflective and introspective journey which also incorporates the band’s recent singles ‘Spent’ and ‘Skeleton’. These very first track releases saw the band garner attention from the likes of Rock Sound, Gigwise and Gig Goer even as they played their first ever gigs with Lakes (Big Scary Monsters) and I Feel Fine (VENN Records), including sold out shows in Cardiff and Bristol.
This is only the start for Sleep Outside.
