Irish alternative rock duo LIGHT GREY have released a music video for track ‘Haunted’ from their new EP ‘Are You Even Real’, out now.
‘Haunted’ is about “the personal connection we have to particular songs and how we relate to them at certain times in our lives,” says Mikey Connolly (bass/backing vocals).
“Music can call to mind memories of people and events that have gone by in a really vivid way. This track is about how it can be hard to listen to songs that remind you of people and difficult times that you would rather forget,” adds Ciaran Nevin (guitar/vocals).
The music video for ‘Haunted’ was filmed in an abandoned asylum in rural Ireland, which ties into the spooky vibe of the track.
Ireland’s Light Grey are Ciaran Nevin (vocals, guitar) and Mikey Connolly (bass, backing vocals) who stepped out into the alternative music scene with the release of their debut EP ‘Beginners Luck’ in 2018. Expanding to a temporary full-band format, they subsequently released three singles throughout 2019 and 2020.
On the heels of a lineup change that has returned the band to their original, two-man act, the duo are now showing off their evolution with new music that marks Light Grey’s divergence into a grittier, hip-hop-accented take on 2000s punk.
The band’s new five-track EP ‘Are You Even Real’, out now, was recorded by the band in their home studio and produced with Luke Bovill from Happydaze. They will be playing tracks from the new EP and more at their upcoming live show with Crown The King on the 11th February Upstairs @ Whelan’s, Dublin. Buy tickets HERE.
