Slam Dunk Festival 2022 – New Names Added

Slam Dunk Festival 2022 keeps getting bigger and better! With a packed-out line-up featuring the hottest acts from all corners of the alternative scene and boasting not one but FOUR incredible headliners, Slam Dunk Festival has added even more names for this year’s Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekender event.

Rounding off their whirlwind UK headline tour this week, Australian pop-punkers Stand Atlantic will be back at Slam Dunk Festival, following an impressive debut in 2018. The four-piece led by Bonnie Fraser are set to release their third album ‘F.E.A.R’ in May, a month before they return to the stages of Leeds and Hatfield.

Fresh from the digital release of their latest album ‘it’s fine’ which featured Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Lil Lotus and Lil Aaron, Smrtdeath will make their first-ever UK appearance at Slam Dunk Festival this summer. Signing with Epitaph in 2020, the Canadian rapper/singer/multi-instrumentalist, strikes an spectacular balance between energetic and depressive, effortlessly swapping acoustic melodramatics with anthemic synth-pop for the futurewave of pop-punk.

Achieving an astronomical social following on TikTok, Cassyette will bring her chest-thumping mix of pop, rock and metal to the Slam Dunk Festival stages. The Essex-based horror wonder has unleashed a turbo-charged array of singles ‘Dear Goth’, ‘Petrichor’ and ‘Mayhem’ that serve as a shot in the arm to the alternative world in 2022.

Cassyette says:

“Fuck yeah Slam Dunk ..buzzing to playing this year hope you see you there !

Born and raised in Los Angeles, twisted singer/songwriter DeathbyRomy, known for her mesmerizing merge of hip-hop boldness and rock and roll swagger, will also make her first-ever UK appearance on the stages of Leeds and Hatfield in June. Making her major label debut with  ‘Love u – to Death’ EP in 2019, Romy Flores has developed a unique ability to share her most volatile emotions with raw vulnerability and has collaborated with the likes of Kiiara, Lost Kings and PVRIS.

New Jersey ska-punk legends Streetlight Manifesto will be returning to Slam Dunk Festival in June, almost ten years after their first appearance. Originally billed for Slam Dunk Festival’s 2020 line-up, The Suicide Machines‘ debut SDF performance will be a delight for many fans who reveled in the release of their latest album ‘Revolution Spring’ – their first in 15 years.

South Wales’ Punk Rock Factory are the high-energy, no-holds-barred punk powerhouse appearing at Slam Dunk Festival this summer for the very first time. Their love for mashing up Disney-esque ballads and early 2000s rock music has resonated with an global online following of almost 1M (and over 40 Million TikTok likes). Check out the multi-million streamed album ‘A Whole New Wurst’ for a taste of what to expect in June.

Punk Rock Factory say:

“We’re honoured and excited to be joining such an awesome Slam Dunk lineup this year! This will be our first year playing and we really can’t wait to bring the party”

MC Lars is an alt-scene legend. Pioneering emo-rap in the mid 2000s, the Californian musician is best recognised for MTV and internet hits ‘Signing Emo’ and ‘iGeneration’, and varied collaborations with KRS-One, Weird Al Yankovic, Kool-Keith and Watsky. Last appearing at Slam Dunk Festival in 2014, his return will be celebrated amongst fans.

South London’s rising self-proclaimed ‘dirtbag boyband’ Bears In Trees have just wrapped up their UK headline tour, including their biggest headline show to date at London’s Electric Ballroom. Set to embark on a major US tour supporting Just Friends in a few weeks, Bears In Trees will be at Slam Dunk Festival this June with a polished live performance.

Bears In Trees say:

“Slam Dunk has always been our dream to play. Pretty much every band that’s meant anything to me has been on their stage at one point or another. To be able to share that stage this year is crazy. I’m also hoping our times don’t clash with Motion City Soundtrack, because I’ve been waiting to see them live for about ten years now.”

Hailing from Los Angeles, In Her Own Words will perform at Slam Dunk Festival for the very first time this summer. Signed to Thriller Records, the pop-punk five-piece are set to release their new album ‘Distance Or Decay’ this spring, ahead of Slam Dunk, giving festival goers plenty of time to learn the new songs off by heart.

These new acts will join headliners Neck Deep, Alexisonfire, Sum41 and Dropkick Murphys alongside the very best punk icons, hardcore trailblazers, emo alchemists, rock transformers and future superstars from all over the world including The Used, The Story So Far, Pennywise, The Interrupters, Meet Me At The Altar, Silverstein, Deaf Havana, Cancer Bats, Pinkshift, Motion City Soundtrack and more!

Moving into its 16th year with the biggest line-up to date, Slam Dunk Festival 2022 will take place on Friday 3rd June (North) and Saturday 4th June (South), moving from the usual May Bank Holiday weekend to align with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend which begins on Thursday 2nd June. With even more acts to be announced, Slam Dunk Festival is set to redefine rock festivals in 2022 as the ultimate alternative party of the summer.
