FLOW FESTIVAL HELSINKI reveals exceptional electronic line up

Flow Festival Helsinki delivers an outstanding lineup for its highly popular RA Front Yard, with acts like DJ Koze, The Blessed Madonna, Marcel Dettmann, Anz, Dixon and many more taking the stage. The exceptional venue, dedicated to showcasing renowned and rising DJs and live acts, is brought to life with Resident Advisor, the world’s leading online media for electronic music.

Situated in the urban heart of the Finnish capital of Helsinki, Flow Festival will host major DJs and live acts at its intimate club-like venue RA Front Yard. The open-air venue made its debut in 2017 and has since attracted artists and audiences worldwide.

Flow Festival’s Artistic Director of DJ and club venues Toni ‘Lil’ Tony’ Rantanen said, “RA Front Yard’s lineup is a musical spectrum from the 1970s until today. The program consists of techno and modern bass music, ranging from UK funk to electro, with a hint of rave and breakbeat, not overlooking quality soul, disco, and house in myriad forms”.

This year the world-class program of RA Front Yard hosts the first female DJ to be named Mixmag’s DJ of the year, known for her eclectic DJ sets influenced by the whole lifespan of disco, house, and techno, The Blessed Madonna, a regular DJ in the legendary Berlin club Berghain and the top name for minimal techno Marcel Dettmann, as well as previously announced eccentric german producer and electronic music pioneer DJ Koze. Hitting the stage are also Manchester DJ on the rise Anz, moving naturally from one club music style to another, Berlin-based electronic music trail-blazer Dixon and acclaimed Detroit-bred veteran DJ Stingray 313.

In addition to established artists, RA Front Yard presents a dazzling variety of up-and-coming DJs. Sherelle, drawing from UK rave and breakbeat and lifting the LGBTQ voices of club culture, Uncle Waffles, the amapiano style messenger hailing from South Africa, and Paquita Gordon, Italian DJ, promotor, and artist playing solely vinyl and relying on old music, are all part of Front Yard’s promising group of artists. Adding to RA Front Yard’s rising stars are DJ Holographic, a central figure in Detroit’s underground scene, and Heléna Star, one of Britain’s most impressive new techno and house music DJs.

RA Front Yard is also a home for ground-breaking live sets. Morphology, a group formed by Michael Diekmann and Matti Turunen, will shatter genre boundaries with their experimental live act. Furthermore, Mono Junk, the true pioneer of Finnish techno and electro, and Julio Victoria, Colombia’s most prominent DJ, will bring their live shows to Front Yard.

Top Finnish club music and DJs are strongly represented at RA Front Yard. Hitting the stage are Electronic Market, a collective of five Helsinki DJs, Finnish-Bulgarian Katerina, DJ duo Irma & Helmz, and techno selector Antti Salonen. Taking the Flow audience to the dancefloor are also Lara Silva with her diverse moods and rolling rhythms, underground influencer Eric Filipus, Jenifa, delivering groovy beats and tropical moods, and emkay, serving high-tempo good time. Flow Festival will announce more club music and DJ superstars to the Backyard venue later in the spring.

Flow Festival will host 150 artists. Acts announced today are:
