FLOW FESTIVAL HELSINKI announces BURNA BOY, MØ and more

Building an incredible reputation as one of the most critically revered festivals on the planet, Flow Festival Helsinki’s anticipated return gets even bigger with even more game-changing names announced today for this August.

A true icon of the modern age, Burna Boy has become a global figure as one of Nigeria’s most successful artists of all time. Leaving an impact on the global diaspora in uniting thousands in the sounds of Africa, his success has brought about a true cultural revolution – from Grammy Award wins to recently selling-out Madison Square Garden amongst many other constant achievements. With a new album – Love, Damini – set for release this summer, Flow Festival will mark another landmark festival moment when Burna Boy heads to Helsinki this summer, for a set that’s impossible to resist.

Also added to Flow Festival Helsinki today is Danish pop supremo MØ. With her monumental 2014 debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, and a prominent feature on Major Lazer’s Lean On — one of the most successful singles of all time — MØ’s career launched into the stratosphere for good. Bound to be a bold and spectacular pop show come August, it’s set to be a special one at Flow Festival Helsinki.

Also announced today is Australia’s own Donny Benet, whose pastel-coloured 80s disco vibes are sure to be a breakthrough moment at the festival this year – continuing the festival’s rich history of highlighting a broad array of talent across multiple genres and eras. One of the most significant musical phenomena of recent years in Finland, Vesta, who rose to fame with her acclaimed debut album in 2018, is also added to Flow’s lineup. The exciting and genre-renewing pop artist is a beloved Finnish favourite who released her sophomore album in March. Also taking the Flow stage in August is DJ duo Dream’s new concept DREAMWORLD – an escapist experience of live music, a DJ-set, 3D visuals, and surprises. More acts performing at Flow Festival this year include Finnish singer, songwriter, and producer New Ro, combining R&B, modern pop music, and 80s’ and 90’s nostalgia, as well as singer-songwriter pehmoaino who has charmed audiences and critics alike with her soft, personal, indie-influenced pop.

These new names join a staggering 2022 lineup celebrating the return of Flow Festival in style! Lead by the trailblazing sounds of Florence + The Machine, Gorillaz and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Flow Festival Helsinki is filled with some of the most exciting artists on the planet right now – carving their own paths across a broad array of genres. From Jamie xx, Michael Kiwanuka, Fontaines D.C., Jarv Is…, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Bikini Kill, to Sigrid, Little Simz, Fred again.., Holly Humberstone, Pa Salieu, Princess Nokia and more – Flow Festival Helsinki stands apart as a festival brimming with the sounds guaranteed to soundtrack countless lives for years to come.
