SUPERBLOOM Festival announces YOUR PLANET an area for sustainability and social responsibility

With the experience area YOUR PLANET, the SUPERBLOOM Festival, which will celebrate its premiere on 3rd and 4th September 2022 on the grounds of the Munich Olympic Park, wants to focus on sustainable action and social justice. In its first year, the sustainability area is themed Positive Power, as everyone can ignite the positive spark that changes our world for the better. In cooperation with the initiative Take A StandSUPERBLOOM will present bright minds, inspiring activists and hopeful world changers who will turn the YOUR PLANET area into an exciting and interactive playground for sustainability projects, social initiatives and exciting ideas for the future with their positive power.

The programme for YOUR PLANET was carefully selected for different age groups, different interests and different topics. Support also came from the Bavarian State Agency for Civic Education (BSACE), which significantly assisted the SUPERBLOOM team in curating the YOUR PLANET programme. Rupert Grübl, Director of the BSACE confirms: “With SUPERBLOOM, a festival is taking place in Munich that is dedicated to socially relevant topics in addition to music. As the Bavarian State Agency for Political Education, we are pleased to help shape the programme and show that politics and music go well together.” Of course, the BSACE itself will also attending the festival.

Social initiatives, NGOs and innovative organisations have applied and will present their visions, research and projects at the festival in September. Together with the visitors of the festival, they will get to the bottom of future questions for a better and fairer world. The YOUR PLANET area offers the audience a unique mixture of information, entertainment and interaction. On and off stage, numerous formats such as talks, live podcasts, performances, hands-on activities and workshops will be presented. “Fort the selection of the organizations, NGOs and initiatives for this area, our overall guideline was “positive power”. We want to present great examples of solution-oriented thinking and implementations to all interested parties at the festival. I am convinced that the actions of each individual will make our world a little bit better – at YOUR PLANET everyone will find the inspiration to do so,”,” says Fruzsina Szép, Festival Director of SUPERBLOOM.

The iconic 22-metre high GEM Tower is the centrepiece of YOUR PLANET. The eye-catching tower and its stage are powered by wind and solar energy – one hundred percent CO2 neutral. The GEM Stage is itself also a symbol for the transition to clean energy sources – a first step towards a sustainable energy concept – and the place for exciting talks and contributions on fascinating topics. The detailed stage programme will be published in the course of the next few months.

The topic of inclusion also plays a major role at SUPERBLOOM. For example, Jürgen Dusel, the Federal Government Commissioner for the Interests of People with Disabilities, will be there to explain the topic to visitors. He has made it his task to create equal living conditions for people with disabilities: from health care to music festivals. The anti-racism group of Amnesty International Deutschland e.V. – the world’s largest movement for human rights – on the other hand, addresses intersectional racism and educates about active options for action. Fridays for Future Munich campaigns for a liveable future and climate justice and calls for drastic changes in climate policy. The Munich local group addresses local challenges for a climate-friendly Munich. The group JUNO – a voice for refugee women encourages refugee women to trust in their own abilities and to exchange ideas with locals in order to break down mutual prejudices. The aim of Christkindl e.V. is to fulfill a wish for children in need at Christmas. All completed wish lists are collected and numerous children’s wishes are fulfilled with the help of donations.

A total of 30 partners, organisations and NGOs will be represented in the YOUR PLANET Area of the SUPERBLOOM Festival. Please find a detailed description of all partners HERE.
