Premiere: Kaiyra switches gears for R&B-infused second single

Kaiyra, the East London-based singer songwriter and all round undiscovered pop gem, has granted us the first view of the video for her second single ‘Don’t Forget About It’.

Having first caught our attention with the polished but perky ‘Overnight’ back in the spring, we were expecting more big and brassy pop with plenty of dance beats thrown in.  But ‘Don’t Forget About It’ shows her sheer versatility as she switches down to what resembles an R&B slow jam, while still married to Kaiyra’s emotional, Robyn-esque vocal styles.

An established singer songwriter from an early age – she self-released her first DIY CD at the age of 14 – she grew up in Venice but now resides in East London where she also collaborates with different producers at Point Blank, a DJ and production school and hot house for emerging talent.  With plans for an EP release in the spring of 2023, we suspect Kaiyra is one name you definitely won’t be forgetting about any day soon.
