Introducing Angel Number’s electrogaze and their new single ‘Long May I Reign’

Angel Number are ready to make an indelible mark on the UK music scene with their crashing creativity, splicing electronica, shoegaze, pop and rock-fuelled elements to craft their own “electrogaze” aesthetic. Their vibrant new single ‘Long May I Reign’ is out today with music video, ahead of the band’s performance at Burn It Down Festival this weekend. They’ll also be supporting Holy Fawn in Manchester later this month. 

Says frontman and instigator Petr Vybiral of the new track: “‘Long May I Reign’ is inspired by a vision of the battle with the self as we confront the darkest corners of our collective psyche. It presents transformation as the only path forward in this day and age as we approach the breaking point on a societal and spiritual level. Honouring the forces that enable our existence is the primary message of the exploding chorus, the real climax of the song, whilst the verses illustrate how understanding ourselves, destroying ourselves and healing ourselves leads to the same results on the outside too. Whether or not we make it through the dark depends on how willing we are to confront it.”

Angel Number explore themes of shadow work and all things metaphysical whilst cultivating their trademark sound. The members have come together through previous musical projects to deliver the world of Angel Number. Vybiral is the conduit for the message that’s materialized through years of behind the scenes refinement and learning to understand his own creative instincts. Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, he moved to the UK in answer to a calling to come together with his best friends and make the commitment to do what needs to be done for Angel Number’s ascent. Elliot Wallett loses himself in rabbit holes of sound design and synthesis to sonically shape the world of sounds the band have envisioned. Alex Chan plays guitar, synthesizers and samplers as well as lending his talents to pull the vision of the visual side of things into reality. George Barnes plays drums and samplers in the band, as well as handling the execution of their visual side through his graphic design and video wizardry. George Smith plays guitar, synthesizers and samplers.
