From the euphoric ‘DANCEFLOOR’ with rising artist Charlotte Plank, to recently released gritty bop ‘MOTIVE’ with FROZEMODE, jungle-inspired ‘IN MY ZONE’ with rap royalty Tinchy Stryder or the after-party essential ‘2AM’ featuring London duo Good Health Good Wealth, ‘FAST FWD: to friday [Vol 1]’ is the soundtrack for any night out.
To celebrate its release, NOISY are set to host a launch party at the almighty Signature Brewery Brew Hall, September 8th. There will be an exclusive fan pre-sale running on NOISY’s Discord and mailing list from 10am Wednesday 25th July. Partygoers will be treated to an all-dayer of energy in the form of a live NOISY show that’ll feature a few special guests.
“This mixtape was proper fun to put together” said NOISY.
“It allowed us to work with some of our favourite new artists in the UK right now. We wanted every track to offer something slightly different and it was important to us that each artist we worked with had total freedom to bring their own style to the tracks”.
NOISY have always fostered a sense of community and strived to bring people together. This led them to curate their Brighton club night, Fast FWD to Friday. A fusion of DJ sets and live performance, the FAST FWD mission statement is to spotlight and celebrate emerging artists within the alternative scene. ‘FAST FWD: to friday [Vol 1]’ EP is an extension of this – a body of authentic collaborations, many of which stemmed from simple DM exchanges and showing appreciation for one another’s work.
“The concept of our Brighton club night FAST FWD to friday is that we have different artists play each night, they do a set, we do a set and then we perform a song together that we’ve written beforehand. After a few months of putting the night on we quickly realised that we were putting together a pretty incredible body of work. The release party is gonna be a celebration of community and experimenting. It might be the only time we play some of these tunes. Summer is the best time of year and we don’t want it to end so we’re doing a festival in the middle of September. We’re also brewing our own beer, especially for the occasion!”.
Festivals are where the music comes to life, and this summer offers a run of unmissable shows, including Barn On The Farm, 2000 Trees and a returning slot on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage at the prestigious Reading & Leeds. With summer well underway, the band have already played knock-out shows at Prague’s Metronome and The Great Escape, where they hosted their own FAST FWD night. More recently they played NASS Festival for two shows, one on stage, and one off. The band took it upon themselves to bring the party to the people, trekking through the tents with decks, speakers and beer for a pop-up NOISY Festival Campsite DJ Set.
This self-sufficient, DIY mindset is one of the driving forces of NOISY (comprised of singer Cody, guitarist Connor and producer Spencer), who pride themselves on owning creative control, writing, recording and producing all of their music, designing their own merch and often shooting their own music videos.
It’s been all gas no breaks for as long as the band can remember. The past few years alone, they’ve had D&B legend High Contrast remix their single ‘24/7’, opened for Mike Skinner, enjoyed a UK headline tour which came to London for a sold-out XOYO show and previous collaborations with the likes of The Prototypes, 1991 and Zero.
If NOISY’s ambitions are no-holds-barred, then they perfectly match up to the euphoric maximalist blend of dance, drum’n’bass, jungle and electro sounds they’ve celebrated for creating.
The release of the new mixtape is another exciting step for one of the UKs most exciting artists.
