Joel Dommett and Russell Kane Announced as Alternative Stage Headliners for Reading and Leeds 2023

Today, Reading and Leeds Festival announces it will play host to a selection of the world’s most entertaining and renowned comedians, confirmed to play The Alternative Stage this August bank holiday weekend.  Complementing the music on each day will be The Masked Singer UK host and lauded comedian Joel Dommett, joined by multi-award-winning writer, presenter and comedian Russell Kane, plus many others.

Famed London via Manchester comedy venue The Comedy Store will be going on tour to Reading and Leeds this summer also, sharing a hilarious selection of comedians across the weekend. Joining the excitement on the Alternative Stage will be the talents of Chris Washington, Dalisa Chaponda, Fern Brady, Laura Lexx, Mark Olver, Jack Skipper, Sara Schaefer and Thanyia Moore. With a spectacular line-up of comedians appearing this year, there’s something for everyone at both festivals.

In addition to the spectrum of comedic talent at the festivals, fiercely independent record label Transgressive has announced a late-night takeover. Home to the likes of Foals, Arlo Parks, Loyle Carner and HotWax, all of whom will perform at this year’s festival – Transgressive will curate and present a massive, exclusive line-up to ensure that the party continues long after the headliners finish.

Friday at Reading will see DJ-battle style sets from Yard Act, Sea Girls, The Last Dinner Party, Jess Iszatt, Bless and Transgressive Soundsystem DJs. Saturday at Leeds will showcase a themed ‘Legends of Rap vs Titans of Pop’, with two DJ battle stations featuring Bless, DJ Jonezy, and CJ Beatz, pitting rap and pop fans against each other to see who will come out victorious. Sunday at Leeds will be the setting for a massive indie House Party, featuring an exclusive live set from UK indie rock heroes Shame, followed by Yorkshire’s very own Yard Act on the decks, and finishing off with a battle of the bands style DJ set themed ‘Legends Of Rock & Indie’. Transgressive promises uniquely commissioned live visuals throughout the weekend as well as surprise appearances from exciting guests. This will not be a party to miss.

London based DJ and presenter Taylah Elaine has also been announced as one of the latest names on the music line-up, promising an eclectic set ranging from R&B to rap, house to dancehall and everything in-between. Joining her is Zoe London, the rock and EDM crossover DJ that has wowed festival crowds with her energy packed sets.

Celebrations will go late into the night at Leeds Festival, with Piccadilly Party announcing the newest names taking to the decks after sunset, including Beefy Melons, Doktored, Danny Oliver, DJ Holland, Lorekeeper, Rachel Hume, Dave Duracel, Eddie Kerr and Danny Mirfield.
