With their appearance at Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2023 where they will headline the Jägermeister stage on the Saturday night firmly on the horizon, Waterlines have lined up a brand new single to bring to the party.
Titled Anti Human, the new single from the Northern UK metalcore quartet will be sure to get the crowds moving at Bloodstock and beyond. From the huge, anthemic chorus to the guttural breakdownsand everything in between, Anti Human is some of Waterlines best work to date. The video for the track is available now, check it out below:
The track covers the darker side of humanity and its behaviors, particularly when it comes to social media. Here’s Waterlines frontman Ben Mars to tell us more:
“I guess I just had some shit to say about social media and how it’s affecting our humanity. I’m a social media-phobe and I particularly hate how people are hung drawn and quartered in the court of public opinion (rightly or wrongly). Sometimes it feels like we enjoy watching people burn for their sins a bit too much. We’ve become Anti Human.
Musically, we love to explore the beautiful synergy between a sweet melody and just absolute fuckin filth. Fun innit?”
Anti-Human is the follow up to Waterlines early Summer hit Prey. Shortlisted by Metal Hammer as a track of the week among other accolades, Prey saw Waterlines honing in on the sound they’ve been cultivating since the bands’ inception last year. Check out the video for Prey here:
Prey is the third single to be released by Waterlines since their rebranding from their former life as Sertraline back in November 2022. The previous two singles, KÖNIG and The Halo Around The Horns, have had widespread acclaim from Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Distorted Sound and many other outlets, as well as widespread rock radio airplay.
As mentioned above, Waterlines have been invited to headline the Jägermeister Stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2023. Waterlines will headline the Jägermeister Stage on the Saturday of Bloodstock 2023, set time to be confirmed. Waterlines guitarist Mike Hawkings explains just how much they are looking forward to their upcoming Bloodstock slot:
“We are absolutely pumped to be headlining Saturday’s Jägermeister stage at Bloodstock ’23! We will be doing our level best to blow that tent out of the field. Opportunities like this don’t pop up every day, so we will be making each and every person in there feel as amazing as we do! JUMP THE F*%@ UP!”
