Newcastle’s eagerly anticipated In the Park Festival which takes over Leazes Park on May Bank Holiday weekend has just revealed its headliner for Sunday’s edition – the multi-platinum singer songwriter Rag ‘n’ Bone Man.
First bursting onto the scene in 2016 with his massive hit ‘Human’, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man quickly became one of the most lauded acts in the country, whose electrifying performances have earned him multiple BRIT Awards, with his multi-platinum debut album reaching #1 and becoming the fastest selling debut album by a British male over the last decade. His powerful deep baritone voice, his signature calling card, lent itself to dance music royalty in 2019 when he teamed up with DJ/Producer Calvin Harris for their iconic track ‘Giant’ which became one of the biggest tracks of the year, and exciting fans more recently with the pair teasing a new collaboration.
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man is the second headliner revealed for the inaugural weekender, with chart topper Tom Grennan gracing the stage on Friday 3rd May and some of the biggest names in dance music taking over Leazes Park on Saturday 4th May for Lost Minds.
In the Park Festival Newcastle is a welcome new addition to the North East’s festival landscape, bringing together an eclectic mix of genres and top tier performers to the city. Boasting an outdoor main stage, impressive production and array of bars and food concessions for a jam-packed weekend of live music. With many more acts still be revealed, this is set to be an unforgettable highlight of the summer.
