Independent Label Market: London returns to Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, on Saturday 10 May, bringing together the best in independent music, vinyl culture, artist craft-makers, and local brewers. After more than a decade of showcasing independent labels, ILM remains a key meeting point for music fans, labels and industry folk alike.
The Spring Market will transform Coal Drops Yard into a bustling hub of independent culture featuring a handpicked line up of the UK’s most exciting indie labels, fresh brews from the London Brewers’ Market, and live performances from rising artists on the ILM Live Stage. Label & artist DJ sets, powered by Audio Gold, will deliver a high fidelity soundtrack to ILM’s open-air party whilst Voices Radio will broadcast live from the market.
War Child: Lucky Dip
War Child returns to this year’s market with its much-loved Lucky Dip, offering music fans the chance to win exclusive vinyl – from brand-new releases to test pressings and white labels – all in support of children living through conflict. From the HELP album in 1995 to BRITs Week 2025, the music community has helped War Child reach thousands of young lives and the Lucky Dip is another way to make a difference – while celebrating the spirit of independent music.

ILM Live Stage programme
This year’s live stage will showcase four emerging artists, with live performances from Victoria Port (First Word Records), Arjuna Oakes (Albert’s Favourite), Lavender (Night Time Stories) and Monde UFO (Fire Records).
British singer/songwriter Victoria Port brings soulful energy to the ILM Live Stage. Known for her work with Anushka (Brownswood and Tru Thoughts), her debut solo EP Did It Again blends powerful vocals and heartfelt lyricism influenced by legends like Gladys Knight, Minnie Riperton, and Diana Ross to contemporaries such as Cleo Sol and Jorja Smith. Recently supported by Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews and Huey Morgan.
The New Zealand-born singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, and producer Arjuna Oakes crafts genre-defying compositions that blend indie-folk with modern jazz. His debut album While I’m Distracted (out May 2025) promises to deliver evocative melodies and intricate soundscapes, showcasing his ability to push artistic boundaries.
London duo Lavender merge influences from American Football to Burial, Steve Reich to J Dillato create a unique blend of textured, melodic sound. Their debut album, ‘we’re having a barn dance’ (out May 23rd) is a dynamic mix of sampling and sonic experimentation that rewards repeated listens.
Monde UFO, led by Ray Monde, brings a fusion of avant-jazz and psychedelia, creating trance-like, atmospheric soundscapes. Their boundary-pushing music is a captivating blend of moody ambience and experimental energy, perfect for fans of avant-garde sounds.

ILM X ROUGH TRADE: LIVERPOOL & NOTTINGHAM
ILM hits the road once again, bringing its signature market experience to Rough Trade Liverpool (Sunday, June 1) and Rough Trade Nottingham (Sunday, June 15). These pop-up events offer music lovers in both cities the chance to meet the teams behind their favourite labels, dig into exclusive releases and vinyl rarities, and celebrate the cities’ own thriving independent scene – all inside the iconic space of Rough Trade stores.
Katarzyna Jaskowska, Rough Trade Promotions Manager said,
“This spring, Rough Trade is excited to bring Independent Label Market to our Nottingham store and new Liverpool venues – two cities with rich independent music scenes. Indie labels are the backbone of a city’s music culture, so it’s a brilliant occasion to celebrate the labels that keep these scenes thriving and give music fans a direct connection to the people behind the records they love.”
