Wolverine vs. Hulk Review

515Ee9MzHjL._SY445_Sigh, in three words they promised so much, an epic battle of two much-loved heroes, which instead felt flat and boring.

Wolverine is recruited Department H to track down a creature that is ransacking small towns across Canada. He finds out that it’s the Hulk and the two prepare to face off. Before they do any real damage, they are kidnapped by the evil Team X – the only way to defeat them is to join forces, but with Wolverine’s ego and the Hulk instability – how long with the truce last?

Apart from the action set pieces, there’s very little that’s interesting to watch on the screen. It is exposition heavy, but he plot itself is just a device so that Wolverine can keep fighting things and the one-liners never made up for the fact that the dialogue is really annoying. It’s pretty clear that this is a straight-to-video feature and I’m not sure what would recommend it above any show on Nickelodeon right now. Perhaps there is a market for wolverine-action pieces, but there are plenty of shows chock full of action that are funny and clever – which this ain’t.

The ‘extras’ consist of interviews with some of the creative’s involved, which should be interesting, but they’re never giving enough information. They also moved the sketches and drawings across the screen so, so quickly that you can’t see anything and it creates a weird strobing effect. This means the only thing you’d actually want to see about the process is completely absent and the chance of an epileptic seizure are pretty high

A real struggle to sit through this – and it’s only 40 minutes long. Maybe one for the real hard-core fans, but fans of plot and story should give it a miss.
