Gone are the days of sleeping in tents, watching bands in the sun and getting pissed in a field. But while summer is over, festival season need not be.
Enter, the ever-popular incarnation of weather-proof fun times: the ‘metropolitan festival’.
MIRRORS Festival returns to Hackney next week on Saturday 29th October. After a successful debut last year, this year sees its expansion with a further fourth stage at Moth Club, joining the likes of St John’s at Hackney Church, Oslo and Round Chapel.
Festival-goers can expect a mix of familiar and new. As well as an exciting list of fresh sounds from the likes of Leeds-based band Caro, West London quintet Babeheaven and newcomers Swimming Tapes, it also pulls the punches with more well-known acts. Expect retro psych maestros Allah-Las to deliver us their 60s reverbed SoCal vibes, and indie-pop queen Bat for Lashes to bring her depth, artistry and vision to the stage. And with a nod to the past, much loved Canadian punks F*cked Up will be performing their 2006 debut ‘Hidden World’ in full.
Tickets are still available, so grab them while you can.
