Track of the Day: HamsandwicH – Illuminate

Dublin-based HamsandwicH are the kind of band we can imagine sitting around in a pub thinking “Jesus Christ what the hell are we going to call ourselves? Who cares? We just like making great music. This is a fucking nightmare.”

Eventually the landlady comes over with a tray of snacks (like they do in real pubs in Ireland), the bass player (it’s always the bass player) takes a deep bite of a delicious bread-based offering and the light bulb flashes on: “I’ve got it guys…HamsandwicH…with a capital H at the end!”

The rest of the band slowly lower their pints to the table, eyes wide and mouths agog. The rest is history. Our facetiousness aside, they’re really quite good, and you could do a lot worse than plugging the infectious indie-disco riot of ‘Illuminate’ in your eyes.
