London-based singer/songwriter/musician Alexander Shields, aka, A Grave With No Name has just announced that his new album ‘Wooden Mask’ will be released on 12th August 2016, streaming his brand new track ‘Wedding Dress’ in full below.
As his macabre moniker and subject matter might suggest, Shields has a somewhat dour approach to music, but also captures a delicate, deft touch and a knack to his timeless songwriting that recalls musical giants like Fleetwood Mac and ELO.
With deeply felt, probing lyrics, the first single offers a look at what to expect from the forthcoming record. Speaking about the track, Shields said “’Wedding Dress’ is a funereal dance through the barrens of mud and memory.”
Here, then, is a songwriter of substance who – if he continues in a similar vein – we could get very, very excited about.
‘Wooden Mask’ is set for release August 12th via Forged Artifacts.
