Newcastle upon Tyne alt-rock quartet A FESTIVAL, A PARADE are streaming their debut EP ‘A Piece of Meat, An Irregular Heartbeat’ with us exclusively today ahead of release on 14th March – you can check it out in full below.
Welding intricate, melodic guitar lines onto sparse, bleak sounds peppered with blasts of brutally honest lyrics, fans of the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Manchester Orchestra and The Twilight Sad will find plenty to like here. By turns desolate and beautiful, it’s a lopsided look at alternative rock that’s already turning heads on the blogs.
The band are set to play a number of live dates around the North-East (and further afield) surrounding an EP launch show at the Cluny 2 (Newcastle) on March 19th.
Commenting on the EP, the band say:“We’re all immensely proud of this record – it was incredibly fun to make and the amazing response we’ve had from the select few that have already heard it has been overwhelming. We hope people enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!”
