Track of the Day: Globelamp – Washington Moon

Wichita Recordings have just revealed news of their signing of LA’s Globelamp, aka Elizabeth Le Fey. Her album ‘The Orange Glow’ is set for worldwide release on June 10th 2016.

You can check out the video for the record’s first single & opening track “Washington Moon” in full below.

Directed by Paige Stark of Tashaki Miyaki, the track itself an out-there and distorted take on ’60s Americana that blurs a nightmarish prescription drug trip with shimmering sun-drenched folk.

The Orange Glow is reportedly “a reflection of the last year and a half and how I got out of it alive” after a painful breakup and the death of Le Fey’s best friend, which would probably account for the numbed, painkiller-melancholy that seeps through the happier refrains and colours even the brightest moments with a little darkness.
