This Week’s New Music – 18.01.16

Apparently today is Blue Monday – the most depressing day of the year. I can tell you right now that the most depressing day of the year for me so far was the 1st January, shaking off a crushing hangover from the closing night of Liverpool’s iconic venue The Kazimier which ended with a woman wielding a lance riding a giant heron fighting a flying spaceship that shot fireworks into a crowd of people wrapped in tinfoil.

Plus, last week we had to deal with losing Bowie and the week before that it was poor old Lemmy. No more please 2016, I don’t think we can take it.

Anyway, onward with the first of this year’s New Music playlists – as per usual we’ve got a swarm of new music from the past seven days that we haven’t had time to fit elsewhere on the site but is still bloody marvelous.

New tracks this week courtesy of: Clarence Clarity, Diet Cig, Animal Collective, Van Bot, Anderson Paak, Marie Monroe, Quilt, Luke Rathborne, SAUROPOD, Prince Rama, Plague Vendor, Miike Snow, The Maddigans, Poly-Math, Simmer, Lust For Youth, Sego, Virgins Kids and School of Seven Bells.

Please do Tweet us @glasswerk and let us know what you’re digging, until next time…
