EP Premiere: JINGO – Ghost In The Machine

We’re very pleased to be premiering the new EP from JINGO today – ‘Ghost In The Machine’ is released today and is available to purchase on iTunes here.

Band members Jack Buckett and Joe Reeves met Katie (now) Buckett in Brooklyn, New York, before luring her back to the bright lights of East London. On returning to the big smoke, guitars in hand; Jingo, along with the new addition to the rhythm section, Chris Smith, have found themselves drawing influence from BRNS, Not Blood Paint, Interpol, Wolf Alice, Jeff Buckley and Prince to create their vivacious, driving sounds.

Mixed and produced by New York based producer Kahan James, ‘Ghost In The Machine’ is something close to anthemic. As has become custom with Jingo tracks, Katie’s powerful, entirely unflappable and very Bat For Lashes vocals have you hanging on every beautifully crafted word. Groaning reverb pours out into guitar so lifting it could be calypso whilst amplified rawness and artful melodies scream Warpaint with a Portishead shade.

The EP as whole sings of the midnight frustration of the deep-thinker and sparkles with attention to detail and sonic experimentation throughout, ultimately resulting in an impressive and at times abrasive listen.

If you want to catch them live, the band play an official EP launch at The Borderline, London, on 29th October.
