The City Hack competition hosted by Desperados and talent company UKF kicks off this week with the first of four challenges which will see the three finalists battling their rival teams.
The three teams in battle are from Bristol (Shifted Spaces), London (The Big Smoke) and Manchester (Rain City Movement).
The first challenge sees each team being tasked with creating a video for a previously unreleased track. From the castings and location, to the lighting and visual effects, the team have to produce every element of the video.
Representing the North West are Rain City Movement, who have created a video for ‘No Messin’’ by Sam Binga and Chimpo. Inspired by 1930s gangsters and pin up girls, it brings together prosthetics, an army of monkeys, some gold bananas and a dance off spectacle using local Manchester dancers.
All three singles will be available to buy on August 21st, and can be pre-ordered now via iTunes here.
The City Hack competition is running throughout the summer and a panel of leading experts from UKF including hip-hop and dubstep group, Foreign Beggars, is mentoring each team throughout the competition. The winners of the overall competition will then receive a full 12-month mentorship with electronic music specialist UKF’s hand picked mentors.
