Track of the Day: Young Tide – NSFW
You might remember us covering a band called The New Union on the site a while back – sadly they disbanded at the beginning of the year, but every cloud has a silver lining and in this case that’s Young Tide, the new outfit from ex-members of TNU.
Three songwriters that have so far spent 5 years cutting their teeth in silence, they’ve finally broken ranks with debut single ‘NSFW’ and what a single it is. The trio have managed to carve out a sound that shares elements of kitsch Danish duo Junior Senior, but with a revamped aesthetic and a healthy injection of indie electronica swagger that brings them bang up to 2015.
A hybrid of musical genres and influences that runs the whole gamut of 80s, 90s and 2010s sounds, this textural dancefloor filler could have been the soundtrack to the distant future we all imagined growing up, filled with pump up Nike’s and hoverboards.
