Good lord Nile Rogers is back with a new Chic track – could this Friday get any better?
ECLIPSE. EQUINOX. SUPERMOON. CHIC.
I’ll Be There is their first brand new single in 23 years and is the first track lifted from their forthcoming new album It’s About Time.
The star received a box of lost Chic demos back in 2010, and ‘I’ll Be There’ is one of those lost tapes finished for a new generation of disco fans. The song is a tribute to late Chic founder Bernard Edwards, who passed away back in 1996.
“When I found my partner Bernard’s body in the room, I said, ‘Now I can be there for you in death the way you were there for me in life’,” Rodgers recently commented.
