Outbreak! Returns

Glasswerk launch a new monthly indie club night at Camden's Purple Turtle on Friday September 9th.

The return of Outbreak! in one-day form is the result of endless requests, after the great success of the original Outbreak! Festival back in February which featured sell-out shows for the likes of Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Haven, The Holiday Plan, and Arctic Monkeys.

This Friday will see a combination of great live music, and dj's playing all the numbers you love until 2am! Amidst a city of atmosphere-free gigs and image-all-important clubs and bars, this really is the place to be.

This Friday sees live performances from Kill Casino, The Nudes, the Fairies and Neat people. 4 great great bands – check them out

KILL CASINO (10.30pm) are a London rock band through and through. Formed through a mutual love of angsty, angular unashamed rock and fronted by the irrepressible Karen Luan, the band have spent the last nine months gigging relentlessly and building up major interest in the Kill Casino name. At the end of last year they were invited into world renowned EMI Olympic Studios to put together a three track sampler and will return to the studio this Autumn to work on their debut album. Watch out for the video for their debut single 'Underwater' which should hit screens at the end of this year.

THE NUDES (9.45pm) bring their indie-punk credentials to a Glasswerk night for the first-time and we’re sure looking forward to seeing them as we have heard great thigns about them. As with all the bands on the bill, they epitomize everything Outbreak! is about. Attitude and adventure, the will to entertain and have fun, to get down and ditrty.

You may have seen or heard of the girls with wings; they formed THE FAIRIES BAND (9.00pm) in 2002 and have since been impressing crowds with their unique, cheeky, spikey, punk rock noise. The Fairies Band continue to spread their joyful chorus and naughty on stage antics, creating a storm whether on the same bill as the Quireboys, Steve Diggle from the Buzzcocks or Sophie Ellis Bextor! With influences including the Faces, Kinks and the Who, these crazy girls who stand for good times and positive attitude mix a blend of the likes of Blondie, Buzzcocks and The Slits to create songs with honest lyrics, chugging guitars and melodic harmonies with a nice splash of punk. link

Hailing from the squaddie-infested Essex town of Colchester and nearby Chelmsford, NEATPEOPLE (8.15pm) have arrived just in time to stop ‘pop’ from becoming a dirty word. With shades of Dexys, XTC, Talking Heads and fellow townsmen Blur, NeatPeople strike a blow against the homogeneity of the charts and the carbon copy posturing of too-cool-for-school indie boys

There are of course loads of other great London Glasswerk nights coming your way. Tickets for all are available from link
