The band first appeared on the scene in 2007 and quickly built up a reputation in London. Their energetic, hardcore melodies made them a dominant player.
Two years later they found themselves playing in front of over a thousand people, alongside some metal stars such as Children of Bodem at the Bloodstock Festival. This their career really got moving with them playing in Germany at the Wacken Open Air Festival and creating their first album ‘Created From Nothing’ in 2011 which was put on Metal Hammer cover mount CD and led to their performance at Hammerfest IV in 2012.
However, the following year the band hit a bump in the road when their Singer, Jason Smith was going through a personal rough patch. The upcoming birth of his daughter put him under immense pressure which ultimately had a knock of affect for the band. He states “I nearly left the band, I was having a kid and I couldn’t cope with it, I didn’t think I would be able to carry on with the band too, I wasn’t in a good place.” But the band did what they do best and got together and injected their emotion into music, creating a life changing and hard hitting metal record.
They rebranded themselves completely, with a new band name and started a fresh. Despite the pressures the band felt and their future hanging in the balance the band worked to create one last record. Working with Russ Russell, who has previously worked with Napalm Death and Dimmu Borgir, they created an album that draws on many of their emotions and experiences from reflection in the track ‘Sleeper’, Childhood nightmares in ‘All They Need Is The Light’ and even Jason’s situation with the birth of his daughter in ‘Faceless Ghost’. ‘The Sound Remains’ shows how the band believed this could be the end with Jason stating that they wrote the song “so even if we did split, the music and sound will always remain.” However, their music grabbed the attention of Mascot Music Group and the album is a new start for the band who honestly believed it was the end.
Their passion stretches further than their music writing with their true strengths lying in their live performance. Bassist, Jamie states “We want people to feel good and get into the music, when people are moving and headbanging, that’s when we feel best.” With Drummer, Cris adding “what we try to get across in gigs is we are enjoying what we do, there’s no better way of feeling that when you get on stage with your mates and play the songs you wrote that reflect your personality.”
This band creates, loud, gritty, emotionally stimulating music all shown through adrenaline fuelled performances.
You don’t need to keep an eye out for this band because you will most definitely hear them coming.
