With a resurgence rising through insanely great performances, hard work and musical passion, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown has announced his first set of UK dates for 2014 – after showing the world that he still one of the best around, 45 years after number one hit single ‘Fire’ was released in 1968.
2013 has seen Arthur sell out shows all around the UK and Europe. Including amazing operatic and theatrical rock performances with the original fire helmet and his classic hits, his extravaganza is remaining current with material from new album ‘Zim Zam Zim’ – including the track ‘The Unknown’, a take on modern life. 2013 saw a hugely successful pledge campaign to fund the album, potentially Arthur’s last. Hordes of fans are rediscovering their love for this artist who, at 71, keeps proving he is still constantly one of the greatest showmen in the world.
Arthur’s history includes headlining Glastonbury Festival with his band Kingdom Come in 1971; being covered by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, The Who and The Prodigy; being cited as a major influence on Peter Gabriel, Bruce Dickenson and Alice Cooper; being the first ever artist to use a drum machine in his live show; being recently awarded ‘Showman of the Year’ by Classic Rock magazine. His foresight and invention shows no sign of abating, as he has recently announced the invention of a new, astonishing, apparatus: a thought control helmet that enables him to produce music purely with the power of the mind.
