Crooked Fingers – New Video and Live Dates

Crooked Fingers have released a new video for their single ‘Bad Blood’ today, lifted from their beautiful new album ‘Breaks in the Armor’ released in the UK on Merge Records this week.

Inspired by Van Halen, the video stars Mike Lust (singer for the band Tight Phantomz), who plays a grown-up version of the child from Van Halen’s classic album sleeve, 1984. The video was directed by Jamie Fleischel who has certainly captured the ethos of ‘what goes around comes around’.

Headed up by former front man of Archers of Loaf, Eric Bachmann, and songwriter Liz Durrett, Crooked Fingers are touring the UK this week at the dates below playing tunes from ‘Breaks in the Armor’ and previous releases. The album was recorded at The Bakery in Athens, Georgia with Matt Yelton (live sound engineer for the Pixies), enlisting the help of Liz Durrett on backing vocals. It’s a cohesive and diverse set of songs with less adorned and more direct and affecting arrangements. Beautifully understated, artfully phrased, and ultimately a paean to perseverance, the album seems to suggest that the breaks in the armor are more important than the armor itself.
