My Darling Clementine – Britains most talked about country couple tour the UK.
“13 all-new duets that carry the sting of authentic country classics. Just wonderful!” UnCut **** 4/5
King & Dalgleish brilliantly evoke the feuding spirit of George and Tammy Word
“Lou has the most stunning voice. I LOVE it” Graham Norton
My Darling Clementine, the new darlings of Radio 2 , with their George and Tammy tinged country pop single 100,000 Words, will tour the UK this Autumn.
Their universally critically acclaimed debut album, How Do You Plead? has been hailed as the best British Country Record ever and had fans and critics alike reaching for the superlatives.
My Darling Clementine is the combined talents of real life husband and wife team Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish.
King, a mainstay of the singer-songwriter & Americana scene for the past 20 years, has released 15 albums – solo, and with his alt. country pioneering band The Good Sons. He has collaborated with the likes of Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, Jackie Leven and the great Townes Van Zandt, and is widely acknowledged as “one of our finest songwriters”.
Lou Dalgleish is the honey-voiced former dancer and actress turned singer songwriter who has released 4 stunning solo albums, including the much heralded Live At Ronnie Scotts and has worked with the likes of Elvis Costello, The Brodsky Quartet amongst many others.
Together they have crafted an album of pure, honest, country duets, that evoke and honor the great duos of the past… the likes of Johnny Cash & June Carter, Dolly Parton & Porter Wagoner, and of course, George Jones & Tammy Wynette.
How Do You Plead? was recorded at Gold Top studios in Chalk Farm, London, and co-produced by Neil Brockbank (Nick Lowe). It features a host of legendary British musicians such as Martin Belmont, Geraint Watkins, Bob Loveday, Al Cook (all handpicked by MWK because of their love and knowledge of country music) and it comprises thirteen brand new songs, many sounding like long last classics from a bygone Nashville era;
There are songs here George and Tammy would have wanted to record. Country Music People ***** 5/5 Album of the month
Every song could be mistaken for a classic Nashville standard. You could easily imagine it topping the country charts in the 50s or 60s; Americana-uk.com ******** 8/10
“Going Back To Memphis is surely a lost Glen Campbell greatest hit”

King and Dalgleish have reinvented the country duet – the mingling of these 2 voices is heavenly” The Guardian
“Dalgleish emulates the authority of Emmylou Harris on the harmonies and packs the force of Patsy Cline on her solos, while Kings mellifluous vocals derive from George Jones by way of Elvis Costello UnCut
