Manchester’s Folks have announced details of a new single and their debut album set for release this Autumn. ‘Say Something’ is the follow up to ‘Skull & Bones’ which was playlisted at XFM and NME Radio. The band has also lined up dates throughout the UK and will support Band of Skulls in November and December.
Having toured with Miles Kane, Noel Gallagher and The View, FOLKS have perfected their live shows to an explosive performance which has won over fans up and down the country. The band consist of vocalist Scott Anderson, guitarists Michael Beasley and Thom Fripp, Harry Gumery on bass, Wil Akroyd on keyboards and drummer Elliot Barlow.
The album, ‘I See Cathedrals’, produced by Luther Russell, was recorded in the US and contains 12 tracks and two bonus mixes. Stretching from 60’s psychedelia to modern day sounds, their influences are laid bare but come together to make a 2012 take on guitar pop. Two additional tracks have also been mixed by Ruadhri Cushnan who has worked with Macabees, Ed Sheeran, Mumford and Sons and Dry The River.
