The release of their new LP “Diver”, found New York electronic pop trio Lemonade drawing critical acclaim on both sides of the pond, with everyone from LA Times and Village Voice to the Guardian and NME falling for its bold, sensual style, a glorious melange of early 90’s R&B, UK 2-step Garage, Balearic house and NY freestyle which Callan Clendenin, Ben Steidel and Alex Pasternak have honed to euphoric perfection.
Now, following a raucous show at London’s White Heat last month at Madame Jo Jos (as well as a forthcoming Converse Represent gig with SBTRKT, John Talabot and more on August 6th at the 100 Club), the band are returning for a proper UK tour this autumn, starting with the Lexington in London before continuing to take in dates all across Europe. If you haven’t seen them live before, now’s your chance to catch what Mary Anne Hobbs once called “pure, agile, hedonistic pop music” in action. These are sounds of the past synthesized with contemporary dance music buoyed by the most immediate matters of the heart.
To tie in with their upcoming UK dates, Lemonade are also unveiling a phenomenal remix of album highlight “Softkiss” by lauded Bristol producer Hyetal, which you can download above.
