Hot on the heels of a sprawling, incendiary tour of the UK and the release of their third critically-acclaimed album ‘In Time To Voices’, Brighton rock n’roll duo Blood Red Shoes are back with a new single and the announcement of a huge European tour with New Jersey’s The Gaslight Anthem.
On August 27th the band will release the title track of their current album as a single via V2/Co-Operative Music. A song that was, according to drummer Steven Ansell, written by guitarist and vocalist Laura-Mary Carter whilst he popped out to the shops to buy more wine!
“I nipped out and came back to find out that Laura had written most of ‘In Time To Voices’ while I was gone,” explains Steven. “She thought it was shit but I stuck a couple of mics up and forced her to cut a rough take of the basic chords and vocal melody. I taped a drum part over the top after she’d left, played it back the next day and we both sat back and said ‘this is fucking killer’! It’s also the first ever guitar solo on a Blood Red Shoes song.”
With the announcement of their tour with The Gaslight Anthem tour, their previously announced headline date at O2 Empire Shepherd’s Bush has moved from October 18th to January 22nd. All original tickets are still valid.
Blood Red Shoes will also be playing the main stage at Reading on Saturday 25th and Leeds on Sunday 26th August.
