Having begun their world tour in Sydney at the start of February, The Horrors are still entertaining the masses 2 months in. The tour will see the band journey across 5 continents with a fitting finish in the O2 Brixton Academy at the end of May before hitting the festival circuit this summer.
The Horrors have gone from strength to strength since their beginnings in Southend. From their debut album Strange House to their sophomore album Primary Colours and lastly the hugely acclaimed masterpiece Skying.
Primary Colours was officially released on 4 May 2009 to critical acclaim and was nominated for the 2009 Mercury Prize. NME later awarded the album first place in the 50 Best Albums that year. Fresh off this success the band released another masterpiece in 2011 with Skying which, once again, was at the top of many critics end of year best albums lists.
Mojo placed the album at number 2 on its list of “Top 50 albums of 2011” while Uncut placed the album at number 6. Q placed it at 11 and att this year’s NME awards Skying won the Best Album prize.
The band will once again be performing at Europe’s biggest festivals this summer such as T In The Park, Benicassim, Pukkelpop, Electric Picnic and Bestival to name a few.
The Horrors UK and Ireland tour starts on May 12th and will be joined by special guest support TOY (all dates) and Bo Ningen (all dates except London).
