We can’t actually decide if this is a really clever spoof or just a terrible video – either way, AC/DC need to get in touch with their record label and check where their video budget went, because it certainly didn’t go on this new one for ‘Play Ball’.
Considering previous album ‘Black Ice’ entered charts at #1 in 31 countries and has sold nearly 8 million copies worldwide, you’d think they might want to invest a bit more cash in the creativity department.
Shot in London in October 2014, the clip was directed by the band’s longtime collaborator David Mallet and features some pretty shoddy green screen work, terrible CGI and some nuns playing football.
AC/DC’s drummer Phil Rudd is replaced in the clip by Bob Richards – Rudd has been under fire since last week when it was initially reported that he was arrested in an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Those charges were eventually dropped, but he’s still facing charges of “threatening to kill” as well as possession of meth and marijuana. He could end up sentenced to seven years in prison.
Nightmare.
The track is taken from the band’s new album ‘Rock Or Bust’ – set for release on 1st December 2014.
