Video of the day: Arc Iris – Canadian Cowboy

We like Arc Iris. We really like them, espcially on their new single ‘Canadian Cowboy’.

Led by The Low Anthem’s multi-instrumentalist Jocie Adams, it’s her unique warblings with shades of Kate Bush, Joanna Newsome and Bjork that make this particular track an unabashed delight. Lush with orchestration and tinkling pianos, there’s a dash of Eels and ANTI Records label-mates Spoon about this latest offering too that’s just utterly irresistible for any fans of melancholia.

The video, directed by Anne Beal – who directed the bands previous video for ‘Singing So Sweetly’ – uses a mix of live action and a variety of animation styles to bring the song to life.
