Bath-based guitar band Pylo are proud to reveal the brand new video for their forthcoming single ‘Young’.
The lead track from ‘The Woman EP’, ‘Young’ is an uplifting epic with a simple yet colourfully psychedelic video, shot by the band themselves in a carefree evening of wine, laughter, hats and dancing. Lead singer Matt Aldus gives an impassioned vocal performance whilst his bandmates playfully express themselves through a kaleidoscopic light show.
Carving their own furrow in the West country but with huge ambition to boot, Pylo are one of the new breed of young British bands unafraid of soaring melodies, heartfelt vocals, heart-on-the-sleeve emotions and making the kind of joyful racket that fits the bill everywhere from the smallest club to the biggest festival.
Having been championed by 6 Music, XFM and Rob Da Bank on Radio 1 for their debut EP ‘Bellavue’, and been compared to Temples and Charlie Boyer and the Voyeurs more for their retro-psychedelic threads than their music, a truer comparison lies with the musical likes of The Verve, The National and Elbow.
This is beautifully expansive music, daring to (shoe)gaze dreamily into space but also unafraid to go for the jugular with a stadium-sized chorus.
Pylo will shortly be announcing a series of gigs across London in March and April.
‘The Woman EP’ is released on March 31st. The single ‘Young’ impacts on April 7th via Naim Edge Records
