Pusha T, half of hip-hop duo Clipse, releases his debut solo single “My God” digitally today – with a physical release due on July 25th.
More than eight years on from his major label debut alongside actual brother Malice, Pusha T follows on from his Marc mixtape Fear of God – which featured 50 Cent, Rick Ross and Pharrell, no less – with his new single.
Signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. label last year, he's appeared on album tracks from Kanye's My Beatiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, as well as on albums from Lloyd Banks, Travis Barker and John Legend.
“To be a part of Kanye’s camp and around that creative energy has been really exciting,” says Pusha. “I like witnessing his artistic drive and determination firsthand; that mixed with his skill is something to behold. We plan on taking that creative energy and putting it towards my debut solo album. I have been writing and gearing up for that. To have Kanye bring what he does best to my album is going to blow people away.”
Pusha T is back in the booth for July's Fear of God 2 – an official 8-track release that features – amongst others – Kanye West, 50 Cent, Young Jeezy, Tyler the Creator and Pharrell. 2011 is shaping up nicely for Pusha T.
