McFly – Shine A Light

Pop supergroup McFly have recorded a duet with the UK's premier hitmaker Taio Cruz for their next single release.

The track, 'Shine A Light' will be released on Sunday November 7th. Written and produced by the band and Taio, ‘Shine A Light’ is the follow up to the hit ‘Party Girl’, and the second single from the band’s forthcoming album ’Above The Noise’.

The song continues the boys’sonic about-turn, tapping into an entirely new, electronic sound which has surprised the music industry and McFly aficionados around the world. ‘Shine A Light’’is a much more melancholic affair than its predecessor. With lyrics about love lost, the song is driven by sublime synths and Taio’s sweet timbre and is perhaps McFly’s biggest departure to date.

The video for 'Shine A Light' is truly the first interactive promo ever made. On the video shoot day, McFly sent out live web messages via Twitter from a secret location inviting fans to join them and Taio. In order to find the band's location for the video, fans had to follow a specially designed McFly & Taio 'Treasure Hunt', picking up clue tokens along the way. Once fans had collected all four tokens they were able to claim a wrist band at the video location and be part of the shoot for the final live performance.

The single, and its forthcoming album ‘’Above The Noise’, which releases November 15th, see the boys return to their old stomping ground; Island Records. After successfully releasing their last album, ’Radio:Active’’ independently (initially and then groundbreakingly given away with the Mail On Sunday) the boys have joined forces with Island in a unique partnership for their upcoming releases.

7 UK Number One singles, 5 Top Ten albums and numerous sell-out tours have secured McFly’s place as one of the UK’s most successful bands of all time. Most recently, the band have conquered Latin America, completing a string of capacity shows and receiving a nomination for an MTV Latin America Award.
