The Chemists – This City

The Chemists release their new single ‘This City’ on March 29th through Distiller Records. The single includes remixes by renowned DJ Adam Freeland, Losers, B-List and a remix of the bands previous single ‘Milk and Honey’ by bootleg supremo Dave Remix. The lead track was mixed by Adrian Bushby (Muse /Doves / Foo Fighters).

The single is taken from their debut album ‘The Theories of Dr. Lovelock’, which was released at the end of last year, receiving much acclaim. The accompanying video has a dark sci-fi feel, featuring the much revered British actor Richard E Grant playing a half-man, half-robot character attempting to unplug itself from the main power source.

The song details what happens when drugs and drink meet jet lag and hookers in Hong Kong, as experienced by vocalist Johnny Benn first-hand.

Their musical influences include the Queens of the Stone Age, The Pixies, The Police and Doves. The Chemists have toured with Feeder, Boxer Rebellion, and White Belt Yellow Tag, amongst others. The band rounded off last year as special guests of fellow Brit-Rockers Skunk Anansie on their European tour, where they received much praise from audiences across Europe.
