Triggerfinger – Let It Ride

Let It Ride is the new single from Triggerfinger, previously described as “the loudest band in Antwerp”. The Belgian rock trio have two studio albums and a live recording to their name to date, and this track comes from the band’s soon to be released new offering, All This Dancin’ Around, which comes out later this month.

The single opens with a heavy bass beat which sets a pulsating rhythm alongside a heavy drum beat. The guitar gives a garage feel with heavy riffs, and the smooth vocals slide over the top of the sonic field created. With a rich sound and the ever present bass line there is power aplenty here, and a simple chorus caps a fine three minutes of rock.

I can’t claim to know much about Belgian rock music, but I do know that Triggerfinger are a band to be reckoned with. The intensity and passion generated in Let It Ride is impressive for a three piece band. Ruben Block (vocals & guitar), Mario Goossens (drums) and Monsieur Paul (bass) definitely know how to rock. I’m looking forward to hearing the album – which is currently sitting in the review pile. It should be a good one.
