Breton – Jostle / Foam

When listening to Breton’s debut album, Other Peoples Problems, with it’s melting pot of ideas and influences, Jostle was a serious contender for stand-out track, coming across like The Rakes produced by Diplo and packaged off to Notting Hill Carnival.

And standing apart as a single release, it is far easier to see how this track in particular dazzles with a party vibe that would surely have Friendly Fires jumping out of their seats to dance.

Separated from the moodiness of the atmospheric album, the single is backed by a brand new double A-side track, Foam, that kicks like an absolute beast, channeling the same upbeat rhythms that drive Jostle forward, only this time packing a much harder punch.

An incessant four-four beat sounds whilst the track bucks and builds to phenomenal effect, whipped into an absolute frenzy that recalls thoughts of New Order being pitted against LCD soundsystem.

A self-built reputation of ‘serious artists’ is quite nonchalantly shrugged off with this double barrel blast aimed firmly at the darkest corners of indie dancefloors across the country.
