Fresh Chops: C-Duncan

We picked up on him in October last year and we’re pleased to say we were right all along about C-Duncan, whose impressive new single ‘Say’ premiered with Stereogum today.

It’s the second single taken from C-Duncan’s forthcoming debut LP (due to drop in summer 2015), informed by electronic music like The Knife and Fever Ray and by modern composers Arvo Pärt and Henryk Gorecki.

It is written about “being consumed by the bustle of city life, wanting to run away from it” says Christopher, who wrote and recorded his album alone in his Glasgow flat on a bedroom studio setup, gradually adding each layer and each instrument one at a time, building up the breadth of the pieces.
