Speaking to Radio Cardiff, former Thursday front man Geoff Rickly has revealed that he is working on a new project with the members of now-defunct Welsh band Lostprophets through his label, Collect Records.
Lee Gaze, Mike Lewis, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver and Luke Johnson have remained largely out of the public eye since Lostprophets front man Ian Watkins was convicted of a long list of heinous sex offences late last year.
In an interview Rickly said that disgraced Ian Watkins’ former bandmates “deserve a second chance” and compared the new music they have made to The Cure and New Order.
“I think if ever there was a group of people that needed a second chance, it’s those guys – and they’re going to take full advantage of it” continued Rickly “People don’t really think of what happens to the other members. That took away their life. What happened is just devastating for them.”
Watkins is currently serving a 29 year prison sentence for his crimes.
