SPC ECO are London based duo Rose Berlin (vox) and Dean Garcia, one half of seminal 90s band Curve (bass, drums, guitars, studio engineer and producer).
Delusional Waste is the first single (Released May 19th) from the upcoming SPC ECO album. Set for release via Kaboom Music in May, the single also features on the film score to the new Nick Hornby film A Long Way Down.
Having recently completed a BA Sculpture (with first class honours!) Rose is now concentrating her efforts on her music, together as always with her multi-instrumentalist and maverick producer father, Dean. Rose and Dean have been writing and recording songs from as soon as Rose was able to make a sound. The chemistry between them is undeniable.
SPC ECO have produced and recorded a succession of albums and EPs since 2008, successfully producing their own SPC ECO cottage industry of releases. Their burgeoning presence hasn’t gone un-noticed either with the likes of Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio supporting the duo, as well as being championed by BBC London’s Gary Crowley. Support spread over the Atlantic too with major US college stations WZBC (Boston) and WRIR (Virginia) featuring the band.
Online the band continue to attract plaudits from the likes of Drowned In Sound, Black Book Magazine, God Is In The TV, Wave Maker Magazine, Breaking More Waves, The VPME, Right Chord Music and many more.
The new album is set to be an eclectic affair, Delusional Waste sees SPC ECO in full summer synth-pop mode with Rose’s ethereal vocals pushed more to the fore than previous SPC ECO releases.
