The Scholars – Stream Entire Rewired EP

Oxford’s indie/ rock trio The Scholars are releasing a 5-track EP ‘Rewired’ on Monday 9th December on iTunes – and you can stream it right here.

Rewind is a collection of all of the band’s singles from 2009-2013. There will also be a deluxe physical version (with three bonus tracks) available from BigCartel and Truck Store (Oxford) and for sale at the band’s live shows.

Love The Thunder has a fast pace and a great piano melody, while This Heart’s Built To Break is slow and passionate. Wired features some intricate guitar work while. Neon Sky is another strong track with a great beat. And The Scholars’ cover of Radiohead’s My Iron Lung, which was recorded in 2009 for a BBC Introducing charity compilation album is pretty good too.

The trio who make up The Scholars, Adrian Banks, Chris Gillett and Leigh Taylor, adopt a melodic approach to their music, the synth and guitar sounds working well together. Their low pitched vocals work well and the electronic rock sound they create is modern and exciting.
